Phillie-Springfield Connection Strengthens

The Philadelphia Phillies are liking Springfield, Missouri more and more. First Ryan Howard brought his homeruns to town, now Cole Hamels has nabbed Springfield Survivor/Playmate Heidi Strobel.

Hamels married the Survivor 6 contestant on New Year's Eve in Missouri. Strobel (a Drury graduate) was most famous for disrobing in exchange for peanut butter during her stint on Survivor, then posing nude in Playboy (along with Survivor 6 winner Jenna Morasca, who did not marry Cole Hamels) a few months later.

Apparently she was throwing out the first pitch of a minor league game a few years ago when Hamels (at the time on the DL) came up to her and asked her out. No word on whether he'd seen the Playboy spread at that point. It's safe to assume he has by now.
