Even though I despise them, the St. Louis Cardinals have a great fanbase. Which is why some are scratching their heads that the team's new stadium is not bigger, but smaller.
The new digs are increasing demand, but the lower supply has caused a run on tix. The team expects to sell out every single ticket when single-game tickets go on sale tomorrow, Saturday March 4th.
The tickets go on sale at 9 a.m.
You can go online and try to get them, or call 314-345-9000.

You despise who? The St. Louis Cardinals, or their fanbase? How can you despise either? Most of your friends are in the fanbase, and the organization is one of the greatest in sports history!
I have no allegiance to the New York Yankees, but they're so rich in history, I don't despise them. It's not like the Cardinals and the Phillies have a great rivalry...
To each his own, I guess. I only despise teams my FAVORITE teams despise..like Kansas, Colorado, Oakland, Denver, and the New York Mets. I should hate the Cubs, but they're so harmless, it's difficult to really HATE them. I know, the Mets aren't in our division any more, but I hated them so much in the 80s it will never go away.
I am not sure of the roots of my Cardinal dislike. I know I didn't like them back in the 70's, and that's when they were bad. Bob Forsch no-hit the Phils when I was a kid; that may have played a role.
Obviously they are more successful than the Phils and spent many years in the same division, so that is part of it.
My only complaints with the Cardinal fanbase are the following:
1)Arrogant at times: this only bothers me because the Cards haven't won a Series since 1982. How cocky can you be during a 24 year drought?
2)Being a Phillie fan, I am used to being much more critical of my team. I don't mean being down on them; I always want them to win. But a bad move is a bad move, even if they are my team. Last year I wanted Chase Utley to start, not Placido Polanco. I criticized the team to anyone who'd listen. Doesn't mean I don't love them, but blank-eyed allegiance just doesn't cut it for me. So, being as objective as I can be and without name-calling and hate mongering, those are my basic problems with the Cardinals.
Oh, we can criticize our team. Just not in public, or around non-Cardinal fans. It's like the kid who picks on his little brother...but if anyone ELSE picks on him, they better watch out. And as far as the 'no World Series championship since '82' comment, They've been close, and there's always hope. Well, maybe not in the early 90s, but ever since then, they're always in it...
The Mets and Reds are the only teams I despise.
Mets- Tim Tuffle, Lyn Dykstra, Wally Backman; they just sound like convicts. 1986, enough said. If they (or Beltran) get good this year it could rekindle sour feelings.
Reds- old NL West rivalry and real cocky in 89, 90, 91. Rob Dibble would head hunt just for amusement against a rookie-laden Astros team in 90. Led to 2 bench clearing brawls the same year. Reds suck, Chris Sabo is gay.
Giants- NL West again. Matt Williams, Will Clark, etc. But they are a distant 3rd to the other two.
I hate the Cubs, and each year my hatred for the Red Sox grows(No explanation necessary).
Oh and by the way Goins and I were online at 9:00 AM to get tickets to the Memorial Day series with the Asstros and we were successful. It was difficult though, we were forced to get standing room Only for Game 1.
Congrats, Kev, glad you got tix. I am kind of surprised you hate the Sox. The Phils lost to the Orioles in 83 and the Jays in 93, but I don't harbor any particular hatred there. I like the Sox a lot more than the Yanks, for god sakes.
Take that, Omaha Steaks :)
I don't really hate them for beating the Cards, I am starting to hate them more and more each year for what they have become. They used to be my favorite team in the A.L. but in recent years they have become the Yankees just so they can beat them.
